Healing Attachment Trauma through Therapy
Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns of anxiety, stress or helplessness, even when they understand where these patterns come from. You may feel unable to change certain ways of behaving that once helped you cope, but now hold you back from feeling secure, connected, or fulfilled.
My name is Jay, and I offer online counselling for people struggling with anxious and avoidant attachment patterns and the effects of trauma. I work from a Person-Centred, trauma-informed approach, creating a supportive and emotionally validating therapeutic relationship where change can develop at your pace.
Together, we can explore underlying attachment trauma, including difficulties with self-worth, persistent self-criticism, emotional regulation, people-pleasing, low self-worth, hypervigilance, disassociation or over intellectualisation in order to help you build greater understanding, capacity and flexibility in how you relate to yourself and others.
My work is informed by Attachment Theory, Complex PTSD, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Therapy, and Relational Psychodynamic Therapy. This allows us to explore how early relationships, trauma, and the body influence your present-day experiences, while supporting emotional regulation, self-understanding, and relational safety.
